Giving at MTS

The Annual Fund provides for 10% of the school’s operating budget. As the name suggests, each member of the extended MTS community is asked to give to the MTS Annual Fund each year. From supporting amazing professional development for the professional community, to the robust STEM and arts programs, Annual Fund contributions are put to immediate use and therefore are critical to the operation of the school. Last year, the Annual Fund secured more than $1 million for MTS. We appreciate and recognize every gift to MTS and how it directly benefits the student experience.

GIVE TO THE ANNUAL FUND

In the spring, the MTS Parent Association partners with the Advancement Office to coordinate a fun, adult-only party. There is typically live music and a very festive atmosphere. In addition to great food and beverages, the school raises money for a specific project or priority, via “Fund-a-Need,” and there are several parties and gatherings offerings as well, for which families can sign up to participate.

During her 40-year tenure at MTS, Nancy Tracy was one of the most revered of the school’s many excellent teachers. To honor her service and recognize future outstanding MTS educators, we established the Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award in the Spring of 2020. 

The Award is given every other year at Graduation to a teacher who has been at MTS for more than three years and embodies the spirit of Nancy's excellence in their pedagogy and care for students. The recipient will have the same commitment to teaching, learning, and community spirit that Nancy demonstrated over the years. The award winner will receive a cash grant of approximately $7,500 to spend on a trip or experience that will enrich their professional and personal life.

The Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award is funded by the Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Endowment. Income generated from the Endowment will be invested in accordance with the MTS endowment policy. Income in the excess of the Award will be used to fund the MTS professional development budget.
