Mount Tamalpais School in 2019
In May 2019, Head of School Andrew Davis presented the annual State of the School, an in-depth review of all aspects of the School. While the presentation reviews the "behind the scenes" strengths of the School, much of the time was spent reviewing the great work on program – the teaching and learning. Read a few highlights from the program section of the presentation, click through the slide deck, or watch a video recording of the full talk below.
Investments in "systematic and balanced literacy" are paying off. With improved resources, teacher training, and more time, MTS students are now ahead of the curve.
Kindergarteners learning to read – tradition – and they learn
to code – tomorrow.
Eighth graders write essays – tradition – and they create ad campaigns – tomorrow.
As a result of the hard work of our teachers and phenomenal support of our community:
In 100 % of ERB subjects, MTS is at or above the norms for independent schools.
86% of the Class of 2019 is matriculating to a top-choice high school.
92% of the Class of 2017, now sophomores in high school, say that MTS prepared them well for the academic rigors of high school.
MTS has a Net Promoter Score of 79 – an impressively high number and testament to the strength of our program and our community.
