Mount Tamalpais School values a diverse and inclusive community. In our admissions process, as well as our hiring, we seek to build a community with a rich blend of cultural, racial, gender, and socio-economic backgrounds. We work to ensure that all members of our community – students, faculty, staff, and families – feel a strong sense of belonging.

Our faculty have been engaged in ongoing professional development to strengthen the inclusivity of the MTS community. With the leadership of our faculty diversity committee, we have worked with Courageous Conversations and SEED. Each year, we send a cohort of faculty and leadership to the NAIS People of Color in Conference.

In 2019, we formed the Community Leadership Group, a steering committee of board, faculty, administration, and parents to further our work on diversity, equity, and inclusion. That group is writing a Community and Inclusion vision statement and will advance program and policy goals for the School’s continued growth.
