The New Tam Tangle and Green Top are a Big Hit

There has been so much to celebrate in the first week of school!

The energy on campus has been joyful as we welcomed students back for the start of the new school year. The brand-new play structure, affectionately dubbed the Tam Tangle, has already become a favorite spot, especially when paired with the freshly resurfaced Green Top—the fresh upgrade to our playground. Whether settling into new routines, reconnecting with friends, or meeting new teachers, students across all grades have jumped right into learning, laughter, and community.

Inside the classrooms, our youngest learners in kindergarten are already showing their bravery and curiosity, from experimenting with color mixing in art to discovering all the ways they belong in their MTS community. Second graders took on the "Marshmallow and Spaghetti Challenge," learning that collaboration and kindness are the fundamental building blocks of success. Third graders wove a literal web of connections with yarn, delighting in their many “me too” moments, while fourth graders set the stage for the year ahead by crafting class agreements together.

Fifth graders discovered they’ll bring Peter Pan to the stage this year, and seventh graders kicked off science with the annual Coke and Mentos experiment. Middle school students have already started their clubs and enrichment classes. Meanwhile, students across all grades have been diving into books in the library and greeting their old friend Stinson, the library dog.

With the middle school building construction quickly taking shape and so much already to celebrate, it’s clear this first week has set the tone for a fantastic year ahead.
