MTS Library Dog, Stinson, Earns Certificate
The MTS Library dog, Stinson, has earned his Reading Dog (or another term, Facility Dog) certificate!
After training with the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders over the past five months, he will officially be the MTS Reading Dog in the fall. Stinson has also passed his AKC Urban and Canine Good Citizen test.
Along with his training, Stinson has also learned a few therapy techniques he has been using with the students, such as DPT (deep pressure therapy). This tool is valuable for helping with anxiety, panic, and depression.
Stinson will spend his summer training and learning fun new tricks for the school year.
Many thanks to Lisa Levin, our Librarian, for introducing Stinson to our community!
