Lindsay Bercovitch Wins Nancy Tracy Award

Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award of 2024

We are excited to announce that Performing Arts Director Lindsay Bercovitch was honored this year as the recipient of the Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award.

During her forty-year tenure at Mount Tamalpais School, Nancy Tracy was one of the most revered of Mount Tamalpais School’s many excellent teachers. We established the Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award in the Spring of 2020 to honor her service and recognize future outstanding Mount Tamalpais School educators. The award is given every other year to a teacher who has been at MTS for over three years and embodies the spirit of Nancy’s excellence in their pedagogy and care for students. The recipient will have the same commitment to teaching, learning, and community spirit that Nancy demonstrated over the years.

Though the award is not decided by a popular vote, Lindsay received more nominations from fellow Professional Community members and parents than any other teacher. Those nominations included:

“In a word, she is amazing. The real deal.”

“She leads with grace, kindness, and full dedication to her craft. She works the weekends, evenings, or whatever is necessary to get the job done at a very high level. She is also an inspiration to the entire student body.”

“She gives so much to MTS so freely. She's flexible, dependable, visionary, and leads with heart and precision.”

“Like Nancy Tracy, her impact extends beyond the school, with her students thriving in high school and beyond. She embodies the MTS experience, bringing joy, engagement, and learning to every interaction”

And finally, one colleague wrote, “I know that she would never expect to receive this award, as she is too humble. Just the mere thought of her surprise at winning something like this makes me well up with tears.”

Congratulations to Lindsay Bercovitch, the winner of the Nancy Tracy Teaching Excellence Award! Thank you for your 25 years of incredible dedication.
