Getting Into Gardening
Last Friday, volunteer parents gathered in the garden for a morning of communing with cabbage and digging in the dirt!
Word on the street was that it definitely “beet” most Friday mornings.
Earlier in the month, we had a successful salad day, full of with fresh picked lettuce, washed and dressed with oils and herbs from the garden. Everyone on campus got to sample the fresh produce prepared by Buddy Bear teams.
Last week, our students harvested the mega pumpkins from our first home grown pumpkin patch! They also removed all the seeds from our sunflower heads and prepared them for storage.
Coming up, you’ll find our resident gardeners tending to our Thanksgiving herbs, and clearing beds for the winter. Look out for some new faces within our volunteer gardening team!
A special shoutout to Lucie Charkin for spearheading this effort. You are one in a melon! A real peach!
