Ellie McCuskey-Hay '22 Wins Silver at State Track Meet
A shout out to our MTS alumni high school track & field athletes who were in the news!
Ellie McCuskey-Hay '22, a freshman at St. Ignatius, finished second in the girls 100 meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.52 seconds at the California State Track & Field Championships Meet in the Spring of 2023 at Buchanan High in Clovis!
Ellie qualified for the State meet in four events at the Central Coast Section Championships at Gilroy High on Saturday, May 20, 2023 after taking gold in the 100 and 200 meter, the 4x100 relay, and the long jump. She tied a meet record by winning four different events.
At the qualifier, McCuskey-Hay took first place in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 9 inches. She also won both sprints with a time of 11.92 seconds in the 100 meters and 24.76 seconds in the 200.
Additionally, McCuskey-Hay ran one leg on the St. Ignatius 4×100 relay team, which crossed the finish line with a time of 48.18 seconds.
