7th Grade Food Drive Raised Over 1000 LBs!

For a winter service learning project, our 7th graders led an MTS Food Drive in January in support of the SF-Marin Food Bank. Thank you so much to everyone for your generous donations of food - we raised over 1000 LBs! The food was delivered, and the class looks forward to a field trip to visit the Food Bank soon to learn more about what the organization does. 

As the SF-Marin Food Bank shares on its website, the pandemic has exacerbated food insecurity. Over 55,000 families are now being served weekly, double the amount served before, and over half of these families have never used a pantry. Even before the pandemic, 1 out of 5 families in our area struggled to put food on the table.
