6th Graders Dive Into the Mysteries of Ancient Egypt

Mount Tamalpais School 6th Grade Presents his Ancient Egypt Project

For the past several weeks, sixth grade Humanities students have been on an exciting journey into the heart of one of the world’s most fascinating civilizations: Ancient Egypt. This remarkable civilization, which spanned over 3,000 years, is home to towering pyramids, powerful pharaohs, intricate hieroglyphics, and rich mythologies that continue to captivate imaginations today.

Each student selected a unique topic to explore, from the construction of the pyramids to the secrets of Egyptian gods, diving deep into research that culminated in an insightful essay, a creative visual project, and a dynamic oral presentation. The result? A vibrant "museum" now displayed in the MTS hallway, where the students’ visual projects bring their newfound knowledge to life for the entire MTS community to experience and enjoy.

It’s been a true hands-on learning experience, with students not just studying Ancient Egypt, but bringing it to life through their own discoveries and presentations. Their enthusiasm and creativity are on full display as they share the wonders of this ancient civilization with everyone around them!
