3rd Grade Data Scientists Investigate the World of Sharks

Our MTS third grade data scientists are diving into an exciting new unit titled All About Sharks: Data Representation and Analysis!

In today’s world, the ability to understand and work with data is an essential life skill. Data is all around us—it helps tell stories, answer questions, and make sense of the world.

In this unit, students explore fascinating information about different types of sharks, including their lengths, teeth, lifespans, and habitats. As they investigate, students organize and represent their data using charts, line plots, bar graphs, and pictographs.

Through these representations, third grade mathematicians will compare and contrast different shark species, ask questions about their findings, and draw meaningful conclusions from the data.
