Dear Class Families,

As was revealed in last week’s MTS 1, this year’s Auction will be held on Saturday, March 16, at the City Club in San Francisco.  A formal invitation will follow in the mail.  For those families new to MTS, the Auction is the School’s largest annual fundraising and community building event. 

With this in mind, the committee chairs, Huntly Klimchalk and Emily Lai-Murray, have asked us to reach out and encourage you to begin thinking about any donations you might like to make towards the event.  The committee is soliciting gifts for both the Live and Silent Spectacular Auctions, Gift Baskets, and any ideas for hosting or contributing to a Parties and Gatherings event. 

Gifts of any size are welcome, and can be single-family donations or hosted events, or gifts given or hosted by a group of families or individuals.  Huntly and Emily look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to get creative!  Here are some examples from past events to help get your ideas rolling:

Live and Silent Auction Donations

  • Donating a stay at your ski, beach, lake, etc., vacation home

  • Donating tickets to Bay Area sporting events or performances

  • Private tour access to any Bay Area museums, wineries, restaurants

Gift Baskets

For the:

  • Star Wars Fans

  • American Girl collector

  • Book Worm

  • Chef and Sous Chef

  • Crafter

  • Gardener

  • Cyclist

Parties and Gatherings

  • Ladies Winery Luncheon

  • Beach BBQ

  • Kids Cooking Class

  • Flower Arranging

  • Whisky Tasting

  • Dad’s Poker Night

 Last, but certainly not least, the Committee would like families to also consider an underwriting gift in support of the event itself.  Underwriting gifts are crucial to the Auction’s over-all success and can be made at the following levels:


  • $10,000 – The Girl From Ipanema

  • $5,000 – Copacabana

  • $1,000 – Rio

The Auction Website will be live soon-stay tuned! - And a formal invitation will be coming in the mail.  Until then, please keep the following important dates in mind:

  • Friday, February 8: Donation Deadline (All donations must be “in” to the committee)

  • Thursday, February 28: Preview Party (previously “Mom’s Night Out”) Location TBD

  • Saturday, March 16: Auction!
