SATURDAY FAMILY CAMPUS EVENTS

Saturday family events are designed to showcase our program and faculty while applicants and their families participate in activities highlighting a day in the life at MTS. After class mini sessions, families are invited to the redtop playground for playtime and an opportunity to connect with current MTS families. Siblings and other family members are welcome!

​​Join three different class mini sessions taught by MTS faculty in science technology, engineering, and math. Families rotate through mini class sessions highlighting our K-8 STEM curriculum. 

 


Experience Arts, Music, and Athletics at MTS

Saturday, November 9, 2024 
9:00 AM - 10:45 AM with redtop playground time following class mini sessions

Join three different class mini sessions taught by MTS faculty in studio arts, drama, music, and PE. Families rotate through mini class sessions highlighting the school's robust Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Physical Education programs.

 


 

Shared Stories and Potluck Dinner – Active Inclusion at MTS

4:15-6:30 pm

Join our Director of Inclusion, Tanya Lemmon, 8th grade advisor and Spanish teacher, Barbara Guarriello, and Librarian, Lisa Levin, as they share how we bring to life one of our school values – Practice Active Inclusion. First grade homeroom and humanities teacher, Zahra Nadeem, will share one of her favorite storybooks with our youngest guests, while 5th grade homeroom and humanities teacher, Kassy Gomez and Lisa will lead a discussion about their favorite books with our older student guests. Then join our community and meet MTS families over dinner at our International Potluck at 5:00 pm. Siblings and other family members are welcome!

Student Leadership Through “Gather”

Join us for a “Gather” (school assembly) and observe our 5th graders leading a lower school assembly. Afterward, Head of Lower School, Meagan Andrews, will share how our social-emotional curriculum and practices at MTS encourage empathy and support student leadership throughout the program.

Thank Goodness They’re Almost in Middle School

Join Andrew Davis and Nick Wilsey, seasoned Heads of Middle School, as they discuss a range of topics families encounter as their children enter the upper elementary & middle school years  (shifting friendships, digital well-being, independence, supervision, and the art of letting go). Current families who joined MTS in 5th and 6th grade will also offer their perspectives.


SAN FRANCISCO FAMILY EVENTS

 

Bus Stop Meetup - Main Parade Lawn, San Francisco

Monday, November 4, 2024, 4:00-5:15 pm

Prospective applicant families who live in San Francisco are invited to meet current MTS SF families at a popular MTS bus stop in the Presidio - the Main Parade Lawn - to ask questions and learn more about MTS. All ages are welcome for playtime and conversation!

 


Why MTS with Head of School, Andrew Davis

6:00-7:30 pm 

Prospective applicant families who live in San Francisco are invited to join us for an evening reception in the home of a current MTS San Francisco family to learn more from Andrew Davis about why MTS is a beloved second home for our SF families. Current MTS San Francisco families will join to connect, share their experiences, and answer questions. The reception address will be shared upon registration. This event is for adults.
