This years 7th grade students will participate in a week long environmental education program with the Mother Lode River Center. The River Centers mission is to provide experiential eduation programs which incorporate hands-on, science-based learning, adventure, team and community building and a broad spectrum of cultural heritage activities. These programs promote a deeper understanding, respect and a sense of responsibility for ourselves and our vital role in the ecological web.

The Mother Lode River Center is located in the heart of the California gold country along the beautiful South Fork of the American River. Their twelve acre camp blends the beauty of the spectacular river canyon habitat with amenities that make you feel at home. Students will enjoy camping on a spacious grassy beach canopied by heritage oaks and towering pines. Camp amenities include modern shower and restroom facilities, river sauna, fully equipped outdoor kithchen, sand volleyball court and more.

Throughout the week students will participate in fun and challenging curriculum-based learning activities conducted by qualified instructors who are highly trained and certified in their areas of expertise. They are dedicated educators and are commited to providing the very best experience possible. Some of the highlights of the trip will include a low and high ropes challenge course, a science based river study, and a full day of rafting along the American River.
