Yosemite-JA-7.jpgThe outdoor education program at MTS has been an integral part of our curriculum since the school’s inception. The overall52709_121404_0.jpg goal of the program is to expose students to a number of diverse ecosystems, through experiences that go beyond the limits of the classroom. More immediately, these experiences seek to develop within students a stronger connection with the natural world and an understanding of how wilderness is influenced by humans. The program also hopes to develop in students an awareness of their responsibility for natural places, along with an understanding of how all things are interconnected. The program hopes to encourage within students an emotional connection to natural places, that will hopefully lead to personal growth and lasting lessons in group cooperation and sharing.
