Admissions Tours:
The admissions process at Mount Tamalpais School begins with an Admissions Tour. If you set up an Admissions Tour today and we will let you find out for yourself all that Mount Tamalpais School has to offer. On your tour you will visit our three school buildings, totaling over 40,000 square feet. You will visit our classrooms, computer lab, art studio, faculty workroom, administrative offices, and our library. Our gymnasium-theatre complex that includes a great climbing wall is sure to impress! Most of all we know that you will be pleased to see our happy, challenged and engaged students. With dynamic small group instruction, Mount Tamalpais School is able to maximize the inherent potential of each child and foster respect for each student's talents, abilities and interests.
At MTS we feel it is very important that you visit our school and observe our program in action prior to applying. During your tour you will learn first hand about our school and have the chance to hear our Founder/Director Dr. Kate Mecca speak about Mount Tamalpais School. It is our policy that applications are only given to families that have at least one parent or guardian attend a tour (adults only please- infants are okay.) Tours are scheduled for 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday mornings throughout the fall, and last approximately 2 hours. At the conclusion of the tour, you will have the opportunity to receive an Application packet.
Scheduled Tour Dates:
MTS only offers applications to those families that attend a scheduled school tour. It is advised that families schedule their tours as early as possible.

The Morning of Your Scheduled Tour:
On the day of your scheduled tour, we ask that you do not arrive at the school before 8:20 a.m. This gives our own students a chance to arrive and get settled in their classes, plus you will avoid the congestion of our regular vehicle and school bus arrival. Cell phones must be turned off for the duration of the visit. Please go directly to Founder’s Hall at the far end of the front parking lot to meet the tour group.
Parking:
Please park inside our lot if at all possible, but please do not block the main driveway entrance area. You may park in any available marked spaces in the lot or you may park along the parking curb in front of the school. Feel free to park even where the curb is painted red. School personnel will be available to assist and direct you. You may also park along the street in any legal parking spot; please check signs carefully.
Driving Directions to our School:
From Highway 101 Northbound or Southbound:

You will follow Shoreline Highway for more than a mile and then turn right onto Loring Avenue. At the top of the hill you will turn right again onto California Avenue., bearing right as California turns into Harvard Avenue.
