mathweb.jpgThe mathematics program enables students to become confident in their mathematical ability, to develop critical thinking skills, to be active problem solvers, and, most importantly, to become lifetime learners. To this end, the curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive and sequential program for students in first through eighth grade. At all grade levels, students meet in small groups and work with curricular materials designed to fit the students’ learning styles, to meet the demands of the class, and to challenge the students appropriately.

Curricular strands for grades one through five center on the following concepts: numeration, operations, and computation; data and chance; geometry and measurement; patterns; functions, and algebra. Students in the middle school grades continue to build on these foundational concepts but begin to focus on application, problem solving, data analysis, geometry, and a more in-depth study of patterns, functions and algebra.
